Eliza began acting professionally at the age of 10, after being discovered accompanying
her brother to an audition. Her big break came the next year when she was cast in the lead role of the
coming of age drama That Night, opposite Juliette Lewis. She followed that up by playing
Robert De Niro's daughter in the critically acclaimed This Boy's Life with Leonardo Dicaprio
and playing Arnold Schwarzenegger & Jamie Lee Curtis' daughter in True Lies.

Eliza took a break from acting after filming Race the Sun (with Halle Berry) in 1996 to concentrate
on school. After graduating high school in 1998, she had planned on going to college and had
even enrolled in Suffolk University when she was asked to audition for the role of Faith on Buffy
the Vampire Slayer. Eliza was quickly cast after she sent in an audition tape, but she had to be
legally emancipated, since she was only 17, before she could start work on BtVS.
Although she was initially only signed for five episodes, Faith quickly became a fan favorite and Joss
Whedon & the Mutant Enemy writers decided to expand her role, having Faith team up with Mayor Wilkins.

Eliza went back into film work after Season 3 of Buffy, starring in the movies Bring It On and Soul Survivors.
She returned for a four episode arc in Buffy & Angel in 2000, and the Season 2 premiere of Angel.
After Bring It On became the big surprise hit of the summer 2000 box office, Eliza's film career took off and Faith
was forced to remain in jail. Two years later, Eliza was able to find some time in her busy schedule,
so she could appear in three episodes of Angel, and the final five episodes of Buffy.
Recently Eliza has starred in the teen comedy The New Guy and reunited with De Niro and
This Boy's Life director Michael Caton-Jones in City By the Sea. Her upcoming films include
the horror flick, Wrong Turn, (which is due out in September) and the independent film, The Kiss, (no release
date yet).
